Abstract

This article examines the applicability of the law of qashar prayer in safar by focusing on the analysis of related hadiths and the issue of the existence or not of the existence of '‘illat law. This research aims to see whether the postulates of hadith, the theory of ushul fiqh, and the current situation are compatible with each other. The research method used is the qualitative method. This research includes literature research which is classified as a library research i. The researcher used the documentation method to collect data. This research uses an integrative approach between hadith science through takhrij, sanad criticism, and matan analysis, as well as ushul fiqh. Especially in studying the concepts of '‘illat and wisdom. The results of the study show that the qashar hadith consistently associates the leniency with safar as the cause of shari'i, not with masyaqqah as '‘illat. Thus, the '‘illat of the law of qashar is zahir and mundhabit, i.e. safar itself. Meanwhile, masyaqqah is more accurately understood as wisdom. Therefore, the absence of difficulties in modern travel does not abort the applicability of the law of qashar. This finding emphasizes the urgency of distinguishing between '‘illat and wisdom in legal istinbath and the importance of maintaining consistency in the law of worship in the midst of the dynamics of social change.
