About the Journal
Al-Ma‘un: Journal of Community Service in Economics and Islamic Business is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Institut Daarul Qur’an Jakarta. The journal is dedicated to publishing research-based community service activities in the fields of economics, business, and entrepreneurship that are grounded in Islamic values. The title Al-Ma‘un—taken from a chapter of the Qur’an—reflects the essence of social concern, mutual assistance, and service to others, which becomes the core vision of this journal in promoting community welfare and sustainable development.
The scope of the journal encompasses diverse issues such as the development of sharia-based community economics, empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), Islamic entrepreneurship, and Islamic business management within the context of community service. It also includes topics on literacy in Islamic finance, financial inclusion, as well as innovations and technologies that support economic empowerment. Through these focuses, the journal aims to highlight best practices, models, and innovations that contribute to strengthening community resilience and advancing Islamic economics and business.
Published twice a year—in June and December—this open-access journal welcomes articles written in either Indonesian or English. By serving as a platform for academics, practitioners, and communities to exchange ideas and experiences, Al-Ma‘un seeks to enhance the role of higher education in fostering the economic welfare of the ummah. Ultimately, the journal affirms the spirit of rahmatan lil ‘alamin through scholarly-based community service initiatives in economics and Islamic business.
